I'm Alfonso, the photographer behind Island Guard Photography. I specialize in commercial, fashion, runway, and AKC dog shows.

Before photography became my full time focus, I served in the United States Navy (Submarines). That experience took me around the world and taught me discipline, adaptability, and how to be ready for anything. I carry those lessons with me to every event.

For years, I served as the official photographer for the three all breed kennel clubs on Oahu: Hawaiian Kennel Club, Windward Hawaiian Dog Fanciers Association, and West Oahu Kennel Club. I also worked with the Valley Isle Kennel Club from Maui when they held their shows on Oahu. In that role, I handled both ringside coverage and Win photos. I was there for the action in the ring and for those special moments when handlers and their dogs took home the win.

I also covered a lot of specialty shows in Hawaii over the years. Shetland Sheepdog, Toy Breed, Herding, Chihuahua, Working Dog, Hound, and Terrier specialties, just to name a few. Every breed has its own personality. Whether you need ringside coverage or Win photos, I would be honored to be part of your event. I am based in Texas but willing to travel.
